Woodwind Instrument Instructor Flute Specialist Peter has always enjoyed playing the flute. He started playing the flute in 8th grade and has not stopped playing. During high school, he did many things with music like attending band, pit orchestra, jazz band, marching band, and more. Loving what he does, he is also very persistent and hardworking. He played first chair for almost everything including playing the trumpet. For marching band and jazz band, he played 1st trumpet and was the drum major his senior year. Also in his senior year, he won the Matthew Tracey Scholarship to go to John J. Cali School of Music.Throughout college, Peter performed a lot and learned many things. He performed in small orchestra gigs, played in big ensembles like the MSU Wind Symphony and MSU Symphony Orchestra. In his freshman year, he sang the Beethoven’s 9th Symphony in Carnegie Hall with the MSU Choir. Studying for his degree, he was taught how to teach many classical instruments from violin to clarinet to trombone. Peter can teach lessons for not just flute but for other concert band instruments as well. On the side, Peter loves to compose music and learn languages like Mandarin Chinese and Japanese while he is fluent in Korean and English. He is currently attending Montclair State University studying Music Education with a Chinese minor under the supervision of his flute professor, Janet Arms who graduated from Juilliard and performed with the New York Philharmonic. |
